Usage alerts are a great way to...

  • Help you manage your mobile use and make sure you're on the right plan
  • Let you know when you are nearing your monthly allowance
  • Help you pay less for your mobile each month
  • Keep the bill payer informed of the monthly spend
  • Avoid any unexpected bills
  • HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OVER YOUR SLINGSHOT ACCOUNT!

How Mobile Usage Alerts work

We want you to be in control... and that means knowing what's going on with your Slingshot account. It's that simple!

So, when you use up a certain amount of Mobile Data, TXT's or calling minutes we'll send you FREE usage alerts straight to your Slingshot mobile and email address. That way you can control what you spend, monitor your data usage throughout the month and most importantly have complete control over what happens on your Slingshot account.

You will receive an alert when:

You have signed up to one of our great value TXT, Data or Calling plans.

Alerts are sent as you reach 80%, 100% and 120% of your monthly plan allowance.

You reach a certain threshold with Casual Plans.

Casual Data alerts are sent when you reach 10MB, 100MB, 200MB and 500MB.

Casual TXT alerts are sent when you reach 10 and 100 TXTs.

When will Mobile Alerts be sent?

We'll send a reminder text straight to the Slingshot mobile that's using the service. At the same time a reminder email will be sent to the Slingshot account holder’s email address, keeping them up-to-date on whats happening on the account. If the account holder needs to update their email address, they can log into My Account and select Account Services then Change Details/Move House.

You should also know...

Usage alerts can only be sent to mobile numbers on the Slingshot Better Mobile Network and they will only be sent out after you have finished the session that's triggered the alert. We usually send out usage reminders twice a day.

If you exceed several notification thresholds in one session (for example, a very large download of mobile data), only the highest notification will be sent to your mobile and the account holder's email address. This way we avoid confusing anybody with multiple reminders.

You may however receive several notifications for TXT, Data and Calling if several thresholds are passed.

Alert notifications are not real time. There could be a delay of 4 to 24 hours between the time you have triggered the alert from the use of your mobile and the time alert is sent to you. Please bear this in mind if you have continued to use your mobile within that additional time period.

If you decide to upgrade or add-on a Data, TXT or Calling Plan it will be enabled on your account from your next billing period. New plans are not immediately applied.
