Terms & Conditions

Retired Promotional Terms

  • Google Chromecast comes with a minimum 24-month contract and is only available to new residential Slingshot Fibre Unlimited customers.
  • Google Chromecast is not valid with any other offers or promotions (a maximum of one per new customer).
  • Google Chromecast will be shipped once an internet connection is established.
  • Slingshot does not offer support for setting up the Google Chromecast.
  • If you terminate or switch your services during your contract, you’ll need to pay an early termination of $250.
  • To the extent permitted by law, Slingshot, its employees and agents, exclude any liability they may have to you arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the Google Chromecast. This exclusion applies to any losses, costs, or damages you may claim for (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) and however the liability arises, or might arise, if it were not of this exclusion.
  • Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet promotion is valid if you sign up to new Broadband plan 24-month term or if you select Power and Broadband on a 12 month term.
  • Lenovo 100e Chromebook promotion is valid if you sign up to Power and Broadband on a 24 month term.
  • Weber BBQ promotion is valid if you sign up to new Broadband plan 24-month term or if you select Power and Broadband on a 12 month term or 24 month term.
  • Fitbit promotion is valid if you sign up to new Broadband plan 24-month term or if you select Power and Broadband on a 12 month term or 24 month term.
  • Promotional hardware will need to be redeemed by replying to an email confirming hardware selection and hardware delivery address.
  • Promotional hardware device will be shipped once an internet connection is established.
  • Slingshot Summer Promotion is only available for new Slingshot customers.
  • The promotion is valid for a limited time only, is subject to change by Slingshot without notice and is not valid with any other offers.
  • You must redeem your promotional hardware within three months of your account being created. After this time, you are no longer eligible to receive promotional hardware.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slingshot excludes all liability arising directly or indirectly in connection with the use of the Promotional hardware devices.
  • Promotional hardware is covered by normal manufacturers warranty.
  • Modem rental is included and is subject to a non-return fee of $100 (incl GST). Modem shipping fee of $14.95 (incl GST) applies.

Free $25 mobile plan for a year
  • This offer applies to one Slingshot $25 Value mobile plan, which usually costs $25 every month, and includes 2.5GB NZ carry over data, 300 NZ & AUS calling minutes, and unlimited texts.
  • The free $25 mobile plan for a year is redeemed over 12 months. You will receive a $25.35 mobile credit on your broadband bill each month, which will show as two monthly mobile credits: one for $5/month and one for $20.35/month.
    • The reason we credit you $25.35/month rather than $25/month is because broadband services are billed for a monthly period, and mobile services are billed for a 30-day period. So even though the charges for both services show on the same bill, the time periods those services related to will not always match up. We obviously don’t want you to feel short changed, so the $25.35/month mobile credit has been calculated to make sure you get a full year’s worth of your $25 Value mobile plan for free (not just twelve 30-day periods).

  • Mobile credits only apply to your base mobile plan charge. You are responsible for any additional usage and charges on your mobile plan (e.g. toll calls, picture messages, excess data etc.).
  • If you sign up to Slingshot’s $43 Unlimited Texts & Calling or $55 Ultra mobile plan, we will still credit you $25.35/month for 12 months, but you will be responsible for any charges in excess of the $25.35/month mobile credits (including any additional base plan charges, toll calls, picture messages, excess data etc.).
  • This offer is not available with Slingshot’s $20 Basic mobile plan. After 12 months you will stop receiving mobile credits and will be responsible for all charges relating to your mobile plan (including the full base plan charge).
  • If you cancel or change your mobile plan at any time during the 12-month contract you will stop receiving mobile credits (both the $5/month and $20.35/month mobile credits) from the effective termination date of your mobile plan.

$200 of free power for a month
  • The $200 free power can only be redeemed over the first 31 days of your Power plan, and will show on your broadband bill as a power credit up to the value of $200:
  • If your power charges in the first 31 days of your power plan are exactly or more than $200, you will receive a $200 power credit. You are responsible for all power charges in excess of that $200 power credit.
  • If your power charges in the first 31 days of your power plan are less than $200, you will receive a power credit equal to the value of your power charges. You are responsible for all power charges after the first 31 days of your power plan.
  • You can monitor your power usage in My Slingshot.
  • Depending on your billing dates and frequency, your power credit may be spread across more than one broadband bill.

Two months' free broadband
  • Offer applies to your base broadband price only. You will be responsible for any additional usage and charges that exceed you base broadband plan allowances (including antivirus, wiring insurance, data blocks etc.).
  • If you sign up to the 150GB broadband plan, we will let you know when you have used 75% of your data allowance. When you reach 100% of your data allowance, a 5GB data block will be automatically applied to your account at a cost of $5. You are responsible for managing your data and the cost of any data blocks. You can manage your data in My Slingshot.
General:
  • This page relates to Slingshot’s “Free for the Frontline” promotional offer (Offer).
  • The Offer starts on 11 August 2021 and will be open for a limited time until Slingshot withdraws the Offer (Offer Period).
  • Slingshot reserves the right to withdraw or amend the Offer or Offer Period at any time.

  • You’ll need to provide us with proof that you’re a Frontline Worker (e.g. an ID card, practicing certificate or letter of service (ID)). The easiest way to do this is to upload a copy of your ID during the online sign-up process.
    • We’ll only use your ID to verify that you’re a Frontline Worker, and otherwise in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We’ll destroy any copies of your ID that we hold (except standard backups) after the end of the Offer Period.
    • If we’re unable to verify that you’re a Frontline Worker then you may not be eligible for the Offer.
  • A new customer is someone who has not been a Slingshot customer in the last 3 months. If you have been a Slingshot customer in the last 3 months you are not eligible for the Offer.
  • If fibre isn’t available at your address, but copper is, you can sign up to an unlimited plan on the best available copper service (VDSL or ADSL).
  • If your occupation isn’t on the list but you genuinely think you’re a frontline worker, give our team a call on 0800 89 2000 and we’ll see what we can do for you.
  • The Offer is only available to individuals, not businesses or organisations.
  • We can reject your application if we consider, acting reasonably, that you do not meet the Eligibility Criteria.

Six months free broadband:
  • If you sign up to the Offer, the first six months’ broadband charges for your Unlimited Fibre plan will be free.
  • After the first six months, you’ll be charged $84.95/month for your Unlimited Fibre plan. If you sign up to a more expensive plan (e.g. our Unlimited Gigantic Fibre plan) you’ll be charged the cost difference between the two plans for the first six months.
  • You can sign up to any additional services you like (e.g. power and mobile). Those services will be charged at the advertised rates, but you can take advantage of any current offers in relation to those services (e.g. our 10% discount for bundling broadband and power – although for the first six months your broadband discount will be $0, i.e. 10% of free). However, you won’t be eligible for a credit for bringing your own modem (BYOM) for this Offer.

No contract, no hooks:
  • When we say “no contract, no hooks” we genuinely mean it. You won’t be locked into a fixed term contract, and there’s nothing special you need to do to take advantage of the Offer (other than meet the Eligibility Criteria).
  • Like every customer, you’ll still need to comply with our Broadband Terms & Conditions.
  • If you choose to leave us after your free six months (we obviously hope you don’t), you’ll need to give the standard monthly’ notice under our Broadband Terms & Conditions.
  • This promotion is only available on unlimited broadband.
  • The promotion is valid for a limited time only, is subject to change by Slingshot without notice and is not valid with any other offers.
  • A minimum 12-month term applies for broadband.
  • If you terminate or switch your broadband services during your contract, you’ll need to pay an early termination fee of $250.

  • Pricing includes a Bundle Discount on both your Broadband and Power.
  • This 12 month promotion is shown on your invoice as a credit of $8.44 weekly or $16.88 fortnightly along with a 10% bundle discount, against the current price for your applicable plan. Current plan prices are as follows:
    • Unlimited Naked ADSL, VDSL
      • Weekly - $20.70, Fortnightly - $41.40
    • Unlimited Naked Fibre

  • If power services are cancelled during the broadband contract term the credit will no longer be applied and the applicable plan pricing set out above will apply.

General:
  • These terms apply to Slingshot’s “Get a free Lenovo Chromebook” offer (Offer).

  • The Offer is available from 6 January 2022 until withdrawn by Slingshot (Offer Period).

The Offer:
  • The Offer is available to any new customer who signs up to a 12-month unlimited broadband plan AND power during the Offer Period (you).
  • A new customer is someone who hasn’t been a Slingshot customer in the last 3 months. If you’ve been a Slingshot customer in the last 3 months you’re not eligible for the Offer.
  • We will courier Lenovo Chromebook 2nd GEN (Chromebook) to you after your internet has been connected.

$565 early termination (exit) fee:
  • If you terminate your broadband plan before 12 months you will be charged a $565 early termination fee. This is to cover the cost of the Chromebook you received, in addition to our standard $250 early termination fee.

Other things to know:
  • You’ll also receive a 10% discount on your base broadband plan and power charges for as long as you continue to bundle both broadband and power with Slingshot. If you terminate your power plan you’ll stop receiving the 10% discount on your broadband plan.
  • If we supply a modem to you then you’ll be charged a one-off $14.95 delivery fee.
  • If due to stock availability we are unable to provide the exact model of Chromebook described, we will contact you to try and arrange an alternative.
